Clarification About Patent Rules

Everything can be invented. That's true and everybody is free to invent anything. However, not all inventions are subject for patenting. The Patent law in the U.S can be applied depending on what has been invented and discovered.

Patent law only applies to inventions like useful process, machine, manufacture or composition of  matter. The law defines process as a process, act or method which primarily include technical and industrial process. Machine are very understandable. Manufacture, on the other hand includes articles that were created or made. Composition of matter refers to chemical composition which includes mixtures of ingredients and chemical compounds. These inventions are made by man which are required to obtain patent.

In order words, patent cannot be granted if it's only a mere idea or suggestion of the new machine. It has to have a complete description of the actual machine or other subject matter.
